Stunt-Rally from OBS (games) is broken for openSUSE 12.1

Hi there,

Recenty I tried to install the 64-Bit RPM of Stunt-Rally for openSUSE 12.1 from OBS (games repository):

The newest version (= 1.7) couldn’t be built but the former version 1.6 (which is still available) would be fine as well. Unfortunately, I cannot install version 1.6 because of a failed dependency. The library libOgreRTShaderSystem is required in version 1.7.4 but is only provided in version 1.8.1. I guess that the new version is for Stunt-Rally 1.7 and got published although the build of the game failed.

Does anybody know where this bug can be reported?
I couldn’t find anything suitable.

Does anybody have a chance to provide the needed libraries for version 1.6 until the OBS games repository got fixed?

Any help is highly appreciated.

I think you’re missing some points:

  1. Versions are not just numbers. I see the only build succeed is for 12.2 packages, not for 12.1
  2. Packages for a version are built against libraries for that version.
  3. Packages are marked “Unstable”, so likely not malfunction, or not work at all. They’re work in progress.

You could report this to the maintainer of the build service project

Yeah, I know. The newest Stunt-Rally package is only available for openSUSE 12.2 at the moment.
For openSUSE 12.1 the former package is still in the games repository: stuntrally-1.6-16.10.x86_64.rpm

I am fully aware of this :wink: As far as I know OBS (I am not a package maintainer, just a user) a RPM can be published after the build was successfully finished. My GUESS is that the package libOgreRTShaderSystem1_8_1-1.8.1-2.1.x86_64.rpm (-> is for stuntrally-1.7-1.2.x86_64.rpm) was built, published and replaced the former package libOgreRTShaderSystem1_7_4-1.7.4.???.x64_64.rpm (-> is for stuntrally-1.6-16.10.x86_64.rpm) in the repository. Since the build of the package stuntrally-1.7-1.2.x86_64.rpm failed for openSUSE 12.1 the game itself couldn’t be published. As already mentioned the former package stuntrally-1.6-16.10.x86_64.rpm is still part of the repository - unfortunately with an incompatible libOgreRTShaderSystem1_8_1-1.8.1-2.1.x86_64.rpm package.

I’m sorry for missing this information.

This was my intention but I couldn’t find an email address. After looking harder I was able to find the contact information.
