I’m trying to install openSUSE Leap 15.0 from USB drive (DVD iso). It stucks on “Loading basic drivers…”. I’ve tried:
- nomodeset
- nouveau.modeset=0
- Textmode=1 nomodeset
Nothing helps.
What should I try next? How do I get logs to help you help me?)

Did you check the install media? The md5sum of the download?
Which machine are we talking about?
I’ve tried. Same result.
No, I didn’t. Will check tomorrow.
It’s PC with Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H motherboard, Intel x86_64 processor.
That’s Intel LGA775/DDR2 with NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i chipset & onboard video. With something that old you may need to hit F5/Kernel at the initial screen and choose safe settings, no ACPI, or no local APIC, instead of default.
OK, thank you. I’ll try this this evening.
I’ve tried to run installation in safe mode and it worked.
Now I have a new problem: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/534064-nVIDIA-GeForce-7100-driver
