I am installing in 2 machines, one is N100 Mini PC, and the other is a HP Laptop with “too old” TPM. Both are stuck on “Deploying OS Image”.
Apart from specs, I cannot tell you much more.

I am trying another laptop. A Lenovo T490 with i7 Gen 8.
Again, it is stuck on “Deploying OS Image”.
DVD or USB Installation?
Which programm do you use to write to DVD/USB?
Have you checked the downloaded ISO with the checksum?
I have downloaded twice and used “impression” to create the drive. There is no checksum mentioned on the site.
No idea what it is.
dd if=<name of the ISO file> of=/dev/sdX obs=1024
Of course you have to fill in the name of the ISO file and the correct device file, X being b, or c, or … (be 1000% sure you have the correct one, else you could overwrite another mass storage device).
Impression is a flatpak iso writer, and is very reliable.
The N100 Mini PC has failed.
The other laptop is still going.
Aeon is not provided via ISO.
The Aeon installation instructions explain how to create the installation USB stick
An official openSUSE image writer (atm only available in TW).
Are these systems dualboot where the installation fails?
Is UEFI enabled?
Impression works with various formats. I will try with command line. I don’t have TW, as it was on the computer that failed to install Aeon.
On the Aeon matrix, someone else is having the same issue. They have reverted to an earlier version of the install file, and it works fine.
There is already a bugreport with the same N100 CPU and error message.
But the tik.log is required for the devs to advice further. See the Aeon documentation how to gather the tik.log and creating a bugreport.
I have tried 3 computers, with different CPUs. I think the issue is with the latest install file.
Can I download an earlier version, from last week maybe, somewhere?
Sorry, too many versions of openSUSE today.
Is it fetching the image over the network? ![]()
Try wired connection, I’ve always had issues with wireless when installing, this was before the Agama days, a lot has changed since… 🛜⛔
Two of the three machine are connected by ethernet. The issue lies with the tik installer. I’m sure it will be sorted soon.
Hadn’t even heard of it till now! ![]()
Aeon’s installer is something to experience. If your system has an acceptable version of TPM2, and just a single drive, it asks a couple of yes/no questions and it starts.
