Hey I noticed you mentioned the concern I had. If you had not already, I just wanted to let you know that I just picked Solution 1 for all of the problems. My tumbleweed installation post-update (or updates, was waiting for someone to reply here when another snapshot released) works fine outside of this weird error regarding the virtual keyboard.
