Hello again!
I have some additinal information… I am able to login when in failsafe mode. I was able to create a new account, and I was able to login through the new account in the normal mode.
While in normal mode I logged out of the new account, and logged in to the original account, and the system froze half-way through the boot logo progress bar.
Is there any way to reset the original account back to working condition?
Thank you.
In normal mode at the login screen (KDM) press Control+Alt+F1 and login with your original account username and password. Once you have logged in lets try resetting your KDE settings to default:
mv ~/.kde4 ~/.kde4-old
Then type
logout
Then press Control+Alt+F7 to get back to the login screen. Can you login now with your original account?
