smplayer -playlist http://some_website/stream.asx

Hello there,

Most likely the crash is caused by the cache for the stream.

Just disable it from smplayer: Options/Preferences/Performance/Cache: set the cache to 0 for stream.

Same thing

For more help with smplayer try its forums.
