I’ve recently updated my all system and with that, ati fglrx driver has been also updated (from 8.49v to 8.51v).
The driver seems to working fine, because the screen is much faster than running it without any driver.
Now the problem is with running some 3d programs as well as compiz or any glx, fglrx command such as “fglrxinfo”. I get this error:
i got the same bug on my system running opensuse 11.0 and kde 3.5. There bug appeared when i updated fglrx from 8.49 to 8.51. Even openoffice seems to be ‘infected’ and doesn’t start. Does anyone got an idea how to fix this?

And a more “official” bug report, with a better fix.
Well never mind i have fixed the problem, now everithing is fine. and what i did:
Downloaded the latest driver from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (wich is also 8.51), installed it automatically (do not forget to delete the already installed driver first!!). Then i run the command from terminal as su(no need going to init 3!):
aticonfig --initial
and then:
sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx
restart your computer and everything should be fine.
My log when i run fglrxinfo:
albert@Tahvok:~> fglrxinfo
