Strange touchpard behaviour with HP Mini 210 netbook

I’ve recently bought a HP Mini 210-1000 netbook. Opensuse 11.3 so far works well on it, apart from the touchpad. It’s usable for tasks which don’t require a click-and-hold:
So for example I can move the mouse pointer around and use the KDE menu to start applications fine. However if I try to use scrollbars in Firefox (for example), which requires you to left-click on the scroll bar and hold that click while you move up and down, then the mouse pointer goes crazy. There’s a similar effect when trying to select text by clicking and dragging.

Anyone know of a fix to make this touchpad behave a bit better?

Actually this was solved by applying all the online updates using YAST (I thought I’d done so but I didn’t realise that grub wasn’t set to boot the updated kernel by default)
