Running Tumbleweed/KDE. I have mounted a share locally using a mount command which works fine and I am able to browse the directories and files in Dolphin with no problem. However when using a console I can navigate the folder structure just fine but am unable to display any files in a folder with either ls or dir. The folders and files have the permissions of my user and group as shown by Dolphin. The strange thing is that running an rsync command to back up the files to this share from the same console rync thinks there are no files there at all so wants to copy all of the files over.
Sorry but I dont see why the mount command is relevant. I mounted the share and a dir or ls command shows no files in a directory which is part of the share but dolphin shows all the files in the same diectory AND the files are displayed as being owned by the same user and group which is me, AND the console is running under my user! Now if anyone can explain why a mount command is relevant I will post it but right now I am at a loss to see why it is relevant.
Please excuse my rather curt updates on this I was having a really bad day.
This has turned out to be an issue between keyboard and chair! Namely me having a significant senior moment with path definitions and messing it all up. So situation is now resolved.
