Today I tried to change my email address on my profile to use gmail which allows me to download using kmail client instead of the Yahoo one which doesn’t permit this.
I entered the requested information stating personal use rather than the corporate use, but on the next screen it stated an email confirmation would be sent to my new address and please set your preferences for corespondances
Clicked the link and got server error
Clicked the continue and got a screen asking for my company and job title address etc… Never got this before when I signed up for an account.
Anyways, checked my email and clicked the confirmation link which took me to Corporate Novel “email has been confirmed” please enter your business contact information and choose products you wish to purchase.
What is going on? Is this normal, for users wanting to change their email account associated with openSUSE forums?

The e-mail address and demographic information is pulled from the Novell
Login authentication source - after you confirm the settings and get to
the “Success” page, the continue button takes you into Novell Customer
Center - which is probably where you’re ending up (since I’m an employee,
my view may well be different than yours upon completing the process).
That said, I need to check and see if there’s something else that needs
to be done to ensure that your address is set properly in the forums
software.
Ok, I just checked to see if my email address changed and it did not change even after changing it and confirming it. So the process didn’t complete somehow. I did get to the success page when I did it and confirmed it, and did get the confirmation at my new email address, but emails from the forum are still going to the old address.

It may be that the sync takes place on a daily schedule, so let’s look at
it tomorrow and see if it’s updated. If it hasn’t, I’ll escalate and
find out what needs to happen to get the change in place for you.
Still no joy, emails going to old account. Mr Henderson not a pressing biggie, I still would like it changed, but priority treatment / escalation is not pressing. Thankyou for responce and efforts.

No problem - I’ll pass this info along and see what we need to do to make
sure this is working properly.

I did get a follow-up on this, and the address should now be correct.
There’s a sticky post (3rd in the Forum Usage Support & Information forum
I guess that’s this one, isn’t it? ) that covers what needs to be
done to get the e-mail address to update properly.
Thanks Mr Henderson;
Yesturday morning both email addresses went inactive (no posts) but this morning emails are now going where they should. So I think problem is solved now.
