I am using openSUSE 11.2 and KDE 4.3.4. Can you help me to fill a few gaps in my knowledge of the config files related to the boot/login process.
1.- GRUB First Stage
2.- Screen showing “Grub Loading Stage 2…” (Can this be removed?)
3.- GRUB (/boot/message)
4.- After selecting openSUSE
5.- Black screen/white letters for a short time (showing that it is mounting the disks?).
6.- Splash screen with progress bar (Where is this changed?)
7.- Login screen (/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager)
8.- Splash screen (~/.kde4/share/config/ksplashrc)
> 6.- Splash screen with progress bar (Where is this changed?)
Files are in /etc/bootsplash/themes and the config file is
/etc/sysconfig/bootsplash

“man grub” will give you some information. If you don’t know what you’re doing here, don’t touch it!
