Standby Issues

Can someone please help me? I am running openSUSE 11.1 with KDE. When I try to suspend to RAM, it does not do anything and the only thing it does is show the screen saver. When I force standby with s2ram, it sleeps fine, but when I resume, my screen is messed up and there are a bunch of colors everywhere. I have ACPI S3 enabled in the BIOS. What should i do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the solution might be, but more info about graphics hardware/driver will probably be helpful to someone who may know answer. Wht desktop environment are you using? Compiz enabled as well?

/usr/sbin/hwinfo --gfxcard

Some info here:

Suspend to RAM - openSUSE

A bit outdated but helped with a laptop running OS 11.0.
