ssh connection timeout

Hi all,

I am having problem to connect my suse linux system remotely. I am trying to connect to my notebook which has suse linux, but every time when I try to connect, I use to get message “ssh: connect to host xx.xx.xx.xx port 22: Connection timed out” after waiting for a while, but I am able to connect to my office computer, having fedora in it, in no time. I already added the ip addresses of host computer and target computer in hosts and hosts.allow file in my notebook.
I am able to ping both ways.

Thanks,

Problem is solved, It was a firewall which was not allowing me to connect through ssh

Hi
Is the ssh port opened in the firewall? Are you connecting via a router
to the internet, have you forwarded the port from your router to the
target computer?
