SSD on openSUSE 12.3 low read-write speed

I just got a new Samsung 840 pro which should be able to write with ~500mb/s. I can barely hit 200mb though, I was wondering if there is anything I can do to improve the performance?

Is it connected to SATA 2 or SATA 3. SATA 2 will not reach the speed you expect…
