Spectacle (kde) on GNOME?

Hello, I’m looking for a screenshot tool that has a magnifying crosshair similar to ShareX on Windows for pixel level accuracy without having to open gimp to do any trimming.

I am running Tumbleweed and did
sudo zypper in spectacle

The application installs without error and launches, but is not able to take screenshots. I get a banner asking me to submit a bug.

journalctl -f | grep spec shows the following entries:

localhost.localdomain spectacle[12388]: Error querying plasma version "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" "The name org.kde.plasmashell was not provided by any .service files

and

localhost.localdomain spectacle[12388]: Error calling KWin DBus interface: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" "The name org.kde.KWin was not provided by any .service filesPreformatted text`

Does this app require KDE to work? Or am I missing some kind of dependencies that can be added?

I also did see a warning about an environment variable, I’m wondering if this needs to change:
Warning: Ignoring XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland on Gnome. Use QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland to run on Wayland anyway

I don’t get any matches with printenv | grep QPA
