Space wasting frustration reading threads here

Is there any way I can get the forum to use the space I give it instead of making me scroll sideways all the time, like a selectable theme designed for people who want their whole viewport width used? Web pages can be narrowed by people who want them narrowed by narrowing the window. That doesn’t work for eradicating frustrating wasted space. :frowning: My screen is wide on purpose, to ensure things can fit when fonts are big enough, same as my browser window.

Previously I had been able to do something useful using user CSS, but yesterday the right hand side navigation clusterfsck jumped on top of the content and I can’t find a way to move or get rid of it as complicated as the CSS is, like looking for a needle in a haystack when you don’t know what a needle looks like. :frowning:

What’s the secret to including a screenshot in the forum post? I see others include them. None of the icons are for “attach image”. I see only: wholequote, bold, italic, link, blockquote, pre, upload (which does nothing, and seems would be the same thing as attach), bulletlist, #list, smilies, date/time, cog (unknown: hide what details?; poll).

Indeed kind of clusterfsck:

I saved a screenshot and clicked “Upload” in the editor.

The upload button in SeaMonkey and Chromium were both non-functional here in 15.5 when I was composing the OP here. Now, it brought up the file chooser in SM, but not Ch, so it looks like the problem may be the forum software can be affected by being logged in via two different web browsers at the same time. I just selected the same image to upload, after closing the Ch tab, but SM didn’t show anything to suggest success. Editing in SM, clicking upload, choosing, applying and saving edit again produced nothing. Clicking upload button in Ch after closing the SM forum tab still produces no response.

The attachment is from rushing an edit with FF.

It was one of the things that I reported in the test phase of the current software. I understood from the reactions that the designers of the software (thought NOT of the adminstrators here) think that a wide view is bad for your yes, brain, whatever and thus restrict the use of a wide view by enlarging your window width is blocked for your own health.

We are now using this for sometime already, but I still hate it to view repo lists in this forum because I can not get a good overview. :angry:

Chromium readily inserts the image with Firefox lingering in the background.

Both, Firefox and Chromium, work as expected. No interaction observed between the browsers.

I clicked the upload button in Chromium multiple times, including after closing the tab and browser and then restarting both, but no filepicker ever appeared anywhere from chromium-119.0.6045.159-bp155.2.58.1 installed on the 16th. I see 119.0.6045.199-bp155.2.61.1 has since become available.

This is shot is of forum opened in Pale Moon window spanning three displays, uploaded via Falkon, assuming “upload” succeeds.

@mrmazda there is a temporary banner in place for the login issues, once that is resolved, things will return to normal. If your running user css, disable…

to upload an image, drag and drop or use this icon to upload;

To upload images I simple drag the image from Spectable or Gwenview to the edit window and once the cursor becomes a green +, I can drop it and it is inserted.

You see then in you message something appearing like:
