Are you saying that you have 2 sound cards?
Which desktop?
If in KDE then use the configure desktop (Personal settings) and in the
Multimedia section you can select different outputs for different actions
ie: Notifications, games, etc…

Really stupid idea of yours. I restarted the computer and now it never want to start up all the way… It keep going into runlevel 3. So how do I fix this? Using kde4 suse11.1. But really. How the heck do I fix this. And no, I do not want to reinstall it.
Sorry for double post…
After looking around. I spotted this. 2.6.27.23 kernel is released for openSUSE-11.1
If this is my cast. How can I tell if I install the new kernel? Because, no mater what I pick. Normal boot up or failsafe boot up. I keep going into runlevel 3. Not sure how to fix this. Don’t even know were to start!

I don`t know if you have your wires crossed here
But to cure this “feature” login as root and run this:
mkinitrd
this will re-create a new initrd and should fix the login prob.
I had this when I updated, normally the kernel install script should do this
automatically but this update seems to have a bug that does not create a new
functioning one.
However how did the sound go?

I’m almost sure I install the new kernel without looking. I’m thinking this have to do with my graphic card. I had to install it manually. I sometimes here you have to reinstall it when there a new kernel update(Not sure if this is true). But there one little problem. I delete the nvidia-linux-x86-185.xx off my computer. Yes, I remove it form trash. So I have no idea how to get it back. But here the web I can download it form(I want pkg1). But how do do that when runlevel 3 is on? And how do I uninstall my graphic card? I understand how to install it(when it already install on the computer). Thing I guess I need to do: 1: uninstall graphic card form runlevel 3. 2: Install the graphic card from that website in runlevel 3(hope it install to Desktop). Then after that I should be fine on my own. [/offtopic]

Will the hole sound switch thing. I was very much lost on how to make sure it run the way I want. As I said I’m new to a lot of thing. And yes, I have two sound drivers. One is built in. The other was manually but in(witch was the one I wanted my game sound to be one). But when I look at everything. It all have the same pattern. So that did help me out much on getting thing to work out.
This is ot regarding sound…
To check what kernel you have type uname -a in a console.
As for your graphics drivers the best thing is to add the nvidia repo and install the drivers with yast you should find nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default-180.51_2.6.27.21_0.1-1.1 and
x11-video-nvidiaG02-180.51-1.1
That way the driver won’t break when the kernel is upgraded

As for sound mine stopped working and had to enable pulseaudio in Yast > hardware > soundcard make sure the card is selected click other in the bottom right of the window and enable pulseaudio
I have to say. The default nvidia download. Don’t work for me(why? Because, it only get me a black screen. With your idea.). I have to install them manually. So it now back to the drawing bored. My drawing bored(Look at the quote blow).
Thanks for trying to help me out. ^.^ Yes, I have the new kernel. As for sound mine stopped working and had to enable pulseaudio in Yast > hardware > soundcard make sure the card is selected click other in the bottom right of the window and enable pulseaudio. <<-I try this out when I get my graphic card fix up.
