Sound works but not for YouTube or other video sites - flash problem?

Hi everybody! This is my first time using OpenSUSE, so forgive my newbie questions.

I just installed OpenSUSE 13.2 last night along with the multimedia codecs, flash, and the graphics driver for AMD. Everything seems to be working fine, all except one thing… I can’t seem to get any sound in the web browsers.

I can play music tracks and other media files with no problem, but whenever I try to watch a video on YouTube or any other site, it has no sound.

I did several searches with Google and tried a few of the suggestions I found, but the problem persists. I did a zypper update in the terminal and came up with 2 flash updates but those didn’t make any difference either.

Any idea how to fix this?

Did you set the volume in the videos window??

Also might install pavolcontrol and see if the volume is set there when the application is running. You can set thing on a application by application bases.

Yes! It works!! Thank you gogalthorp!!!

I installed pavucontrol and discovered the videos and such were trying to use the wrong sound card.

If anyone else encounters the same or similar problem, you can get pavucontrol by going here: openSUSE Software

After it installed, I opened the PulseAudio Volume Control program and if you look under the Playback section you will see all the instances of things that have sound. There is a drop down with the sound cards you have installed - mine was set to the wrong one, so I had to change it. I also raised the volume levels. Everything works great now!
