I am running OpenSUSE Leap 42.3 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T570. The sound volume through the speakers is very low even when I have it set to 120%. Except for apps in Citrix then the sound is loud.
Very strange. I have tried to set the levels higher in alsa and pulse. I also have tried a Bluetooth headset and plug in headphones.
Nothing seems to work. Sounds coming from Citrix apps are actually quite loud.
What application do you use to adjust the sound volume?
GNU/Linux with Pulse Audio has another ‘layer’ (albeit that is a crude description) between the alsa sound driver / audio-devices and the multi-media applications.
Have you tried installing the application ‘pavucontrol’ (pulse audio volume control) and also use it to increase the volume on a per application basis?
