I’ve installed openSuse 11.3 recently and the sound card is ok because I can play audio with KsCD but there’s no sound at all with any of the other players or browsers. Video now is ok after installing Packman Repository etc, but still no sound.
Any clues?

Did you check the mixer (bottom left speaker icon - click) for volume levels and PCM level? Make sure nothing you need is muted there.
On the Mixer / Right Click / Select Master Channel I had selected Master by default and thought that was enough.
I don’t know what PCM is but now that is working with your suggestion I will certainly find out more.
