Sound Issue openSUSE 11.1 64 bit

Greetings:

I am having a sound issue with DOSBOX 0.73 in openSUSE 11.1 (64 bit). The sound is working fine in every other application on the system. I am not sure, but the problem may lie in the SDL setup which I know little or nothing about.

My system is a Dell Optiplex GX520 and it has the Dell onboard soundcard (snd0) and my USB audio codec soundcard (snd1). Everything is routed through snd1 on the system. Since there are no speakers on the built-in soundcard, I am unable to tell you if the sound from DOSBOX is routed there somehow, but I need to presumably tell SDL that it needs to use snd1 instead of snd0 or something like that or to verify how it is setup and fix it.

The driver the system uses to address my USB soundcard is OSS according to the sound control panel.

If it makes a difference, I am using the Gnome desktop.

I hope someone can help me sort this out.

Thanks in advance.

See what happens after this:

Start Yast - Hardware - Sound. Select the USB-audio and from the Options select "set as primary…’. This way snd1 will become snd0 and the other way around. From what I remember DOSBOX can only use one soundcard, i.e. the first one. Please let us know if this solved your problem.

Hello and thanks for the response. This did not solve the issue with DOSBOX, the rest of the programs still have sound but DOSBOX still does not.
