Sound is gone :(

Hi everyone:

First post, please be gentle ;). After two months my openSUSE stopped playing sounds. I can see and use the volume controls, every sound test I try to use runs ok, but I hear nothing. If I remember correctly, it happened after an automatic update; after that, sound was gone. My computer is an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ with 1GB RAM, and my sound card is an Audigy.

Reading other threads I picked several commands that provide some useful info. Here are the results:

¿Can someone help me? thanks in advance.

Welcome to our forum and to openSUSE.

Typically the first thing to check is one’s mixer. Check out this guide: [Solution] Creative Audigy 1/2 + 11.0 + KDE/GNOME + ALSA - openSUSE Forums](http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/386773-solution-creative-audigy-1-2-11-0-kde-gnome-alsa.html)

Also, can you recall what you were doing when the audio stopped? Have you rebooted since it stopped?

Hi:

Sorry for not replying sooner. Anyway, unchecking that “Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack” did the trick. Thank you very much for your help!

Great ! Congratulations and thankyou for sharing your solution.
