Sound died on me (noob)

Hi,

yesterday my sound died on me…
I don´t know why no new install / no fiddling with a running system

the sound won´t work, except for the left/right speaker test…
in Banshee the timer is running at high speed when I try to play something.
when I hit a youtube vid, the vid plays at very high speed, no sound…

Please be patient, as my knowledge is at noob level.

Thanks in advance

PS: I posted some stuff here, if any of that helps, then got directed to this board…

I see that help thread is still on going where user jdmcdaniel3 has provided some excellent and specific suggestions for apps that you are missing and could be related. I recommend you follow his advice in that thread.

yes, but I don´t understand a word of it…

The best course of action in that case is to ask some questions so James
can help you understand what he’s trying to explain to you.

You need to follow the advice in that thread. You have not done so correctly.
