Hi All,

Just thought I would share a fix to my problem regarding the Sony VAIO VGN-NW11S Camara MIC where it would not seem to pick up.

This one drove me tweets for a few hours but finally cracked it my going to YAST>sound>edit> and changing the 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD audio controller model to toshiba-s06.

Hope this saves someone from a few hours head scratching.

Congratulations on sorting this, and thanks for sharing your solution.

From what I can read from the alsa documentation, “toshiba-s06” is a model for the ALC262, so I assume your Sony VAIO VGN-NW11S has an ALC262 hardware audio codec ?

If you get the chance, can you update the openSUSE HCL with your laptop specs ? HCL/Laptops/Sony - openSUSE … or if the wiki syntax is too bizarre (which IMHO it is) then just either post or PM me the details on your success/experience/failure on the 14 categories in the wiki entry, and I can update the wiki.
