SonicWALL NetExtender requires working ifconfig and route utilities

Hello,

I would like to run NetExtender but I am unable to install it. The errors during install are that /sbin/ifconfig and /sbin/route are missing.

I looked previous posts and there was a suggestion to visit here, https://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/opensuse/13.1/x86_64/sysconfig-network-0.81.5-3.1.x86_64.html, and take the scripts from sysconfig-network-0.81.5-3.1 RPM for x86_64 (ip-down, ip-up, ipv6-down, ipv6-up, poll.tcpip) and place them in /etc/ppp. I did that but I still get the same errors.

This is for work so I’m stuck with having to get NetExtender to work.

Well, do you have net-tools installed?

They provide /usr/sbin/ifconfig and route.

I probably don’t have the net-tools installed.
I will check tomorrow.
Hopefully, that is the cause of my issue.

To install the old tools which shouldn’t ordinarily be used but may be required by an app or script like in this case,

zypper in net-tools-deprecated

Following your instructions I installed, net-tools-deprecated.

That resolved my issue.
