As a matter of fact: Sonbird is AWESOME.
It has several glitches though - first of all, HOW to do a COMPLETE deinstallation? Seems impossible.
Second: Open songbird - it hangs. Open once more - it works. >:(
This is the output of starting via console:
Gtk-Message: (for origin information, set GTK_DEBUG): failed to retrieve property GtkTreeView: odd-row-color' of type GdkColor’ from rc file value “((GString*) 0x7f63891d0f00)” of type `GString’
Now go and figure. Google did not help in this case. Maybe one of you can guide me through the matrix - I’ll take the red pill.
The meaning of this error message is very trivial - and also funny.
Download another version, it seems to be buggy - cannot retrieve the color of odd rows. lol.
After further advice in other forums THIS seems like the solution. I’ve been experiencing the issue that after a normal bootup songbird wouldn’t play and ONLY after killing it and restarting it did it’s job.
To conclude the mentioned solution: REMOVE the libvisual-0.4-plugins package (either via YaST) or via apt-get:
sudo apt-get remove libvisual-0.4-plugins
Then start songbird, listen to some songs and re-install the libviual-plugins eventually. Happy groovin’!
