what does it report in the terminal
Directory: /home/admin

admin@linux-ed54:~> yast2
Absolute path to 'yast2' is '/sbin/yast2', so running it may require superuser privileges (eg. root).
admin@linux-ed54:~> sudo yast2
sudo: yast2: command not found
admin@linux-ed54:~> sudo yast

Those repos don’t look too bad to me. But your route to fix this is hinted at in the terminal output.
I have to logout soon so I’m posting more info than might seem necessary.
You can get to yast this way:
Level 3 Boot and Yast - Windows Live
Try re-installing: yast2-ncurses
I would also look at what zypper lu gives at the moment.
See how you get on, I’ll check in later.
/Carl
Thanks Caf

Enter this command as root:
zypper verify
This should tell you what needs to be installed to resolve dependencies for YaST.
Indeed. Good idea.
Here
Zypper/Usage/11.2 - openSUSE
Hi all,
Isn’t there a way that opensuse can figure out it’s own resolving of dependencies? I mean, I have been resolving dependencies for the last long while, and looks like nothing is getting fixed.
Is there maybe a command that I can throw in that will restore a basic version of apps and such?
I have been installing something to resolve a dependency, then the resolve is to remove the same stuff I just installed. I don’t get it. All this using “Zypper Verify” command.
Heeter
Heeter.
Did you run zypper ve
or not?
You remember earlier I said your repos look OK. That was being kind. IMO you would be best served with just these
oss
non-oss
update
packman
nvidia (added because I assume you have a nvidia card)
Do that then run zypper dup
Then reboot
Then try yast
Once yast is working do this

The more build service repo’s you add the more complicated it can become and certainly more prone to issues such as you have now.

Hi Caf,
Thanks for sticking with me on this.
I did run zypper ve, that is where all these endless resolving of dependencies are coming from.
I will run zypper dub right now and reboot.Looks like I got about 311MB of stuff to download/install using zypper dub.
This is a fresh install from yesterday, so I had all repos open until finish installing all I required, then disable them afterwards.
Heeter
That did it, Caf.
Thanks for all help.
Heeter
No worries friend;)
(I piggy-backed on this older thread due to receiving the same message)
When running “Online Update”, at termination I receive a panel with
GTK GUI wanted but not found, falling back to Qt.
No further messages are seen after pressing “Close”. Pursuant to this thread, I ran (as “root”) “ZYPPER Verify”, and received the message that all dependencies are satisfied. However, the original message still presents after each attempt at online update.
Where should I go next ?
The best thing to do is start a new thread. Probably under applications.
