something is wrong with pulse??

**hi everyone

i was looking for some info about a problem i have, but i haven’t succeed :frowning:

sometimes when i’m listenin my music, or a video… the sound crashes, it sounds a like a lot of “beeps”, its just like the sound colapses and it start to sound wierd, but keeping the “rythm” of the file… so i have to press alt+F2, run killall pulseaudio, press alt+f2 again an run pulseaudio, and i can hear everything normal again

i’m using amarok with xine [from packman repository], in sound prefernces my default server is pulse…

also, if i run this in terminal “rpm --verify --query --all ‘gst’” it returns this “S.5…T /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstpulse.so”

i dont know what it could be, since im really new to suse :frowning: **

It’s a feature of pulseaudio.

Search the forums… you’ll find lots of advice on how to eliminate
pulseaudio. With that said, if pulseaudio is ever made to work
correctly… I’m all for moving towards it (feature wise). But as a former
QA manager, I think the current pulseaudio needs to be scrapped…
it doesn’t look like a fixable thing to me… too many bugs means
more bugs ahead.

**thx for answering man

so, if i undertood correctly, pulse is not the best option for sound, right? so, what shoul i choose, what you recommend me? oss, or alsa… **
