For some reason in gnome a few keys on my keyboard aren’t working as expected. For example, in Evolution, I would like to use the delete key to delete a message from the message list but when I press delete nothing happens. I can delete messages by pressing ctrl+delete but that’s a bit awkward. Also, in Firefox, when I press the page up, down, home, and end keys, nothing happens. All of these keys work fine in kde.
I wonder what the problem is?
I created a new user and the keys work fine in the new account. So I think I’ll just gradually migrate my files to this account.
I found a solution to my problem. The entire numeric section of my keyboard wasn’t responding under gnome. It turns out I had to disable mouse keys in the universal access section of settings.
