Using openSUSE 12.1 with KDE desktop and Firefox browser. I used to watch Homeland on Channel 4oD but it no longer plays. Other programmes from 4oD are still working. I understand that Homeland now using adobe f4f on http which may be cause. Anybody else have this problem or can advise solution?

I’m not in the right part of the world to access the streaming site you mention unfortunately, so I can’t view anyway, but I wonder whether this is a DRM issue perhaps? Or a recent flash upgrade? Codecs?
Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes I think it has to do with 4oD changing to use of the f4f approach as I mentioned. Adobe give details of this for potential users and state that it is OK with Windoze, Mac & Linux but there is no info I can follow to obtain the codecs or whatever else is needed. I am surprised nobody has woken up to this yet. Will have to wait.
Meanwhile and on another topic, have Novell reduced resources on the login process for this website? I frequently have to wait over a minute for login process to complete.

I’m not sure of the implications, especially as you mention that other videos play okay from that site. Are they all using f4f protocol?

It is in work in progress. There have been a couple of threads on this recently.
Try launching standalone flashplayer from a terminal, and enter the URL for one of the affected video streams. Are there any errors (encryption or otherwise) reported?

At present not all 4oD programmes are using f4f but I guess all will over time.
