[Solved] Help! Can't start machine after hibernate!

Edit:
I solved the problem by pulling out battery, leaving it for a while and start the machine without battery(on AC power).

Hello, I installed Opensuse 11.1 with KDE 3.5 on my laptop, without any updates, I tried the suspend function, I clicked the exit button at bottom right corner, there is a suspend option, but it is actually hibernate(suspend to harddisk), then after hibernation, I pressed the power button, the screen shows HP logo with a sentence " Press the ESC key for Startup Menu " beneath it, then nothing happens, I tried to press ESC key, or restart, or insert a bootable disk, nothing happens. So as a result, the machine becomes unusable, now how can I recover from this issue? Do I have to send the laptop to HP to repair(under warranty)? Will they be responsible for problems caused by installing other OS?

Thanks a lot!

edit:

I noticed the Caps Lock key flashes constantly, and pressing the power button directly turns off the machine with a scarry harddisk noise.

that is very strange you talking about

did you select something like boot from cd|dvd in your bios, place in your dvd drive some bootable dvd and restart your laptop?

you should instal OS one more time, or try to recover GRUB|MBR

Do I have to send the laptop to HP to repair(under

try to read your warranty

if problem with hardware they must respond for this and no matter what OS did you use(but in some cases if somebody prove that OS can broke your HW this may be the question for example http://tinyurl.com/453qrk)

when I send my laptop to service without hard drive. That was a problem to do this, I spend some time in talking with service people. But finally they stand on my side (I was sure about problem with my laptop).
