Software Update Applet Issue

I use the latest plasma version with tumbleweed and have noticed the last few days that the applet seems to let you know that you have updates available, but tells you to use zypper dup command to update the packages. i have also noticed that when the updates have finished installing, the applet still shows the updates to install.

See https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/531834-Software-Updates-widget-can-no-longer-install-packages-asks-user-to-run-zypper-dup-manually

Installing updates via the update applet has been disabled, as it can easily break your system (or at least miss updates), as it (PackageKit’s zypp backend) doesn’t support TW properly. It does the equivalent of “zypper up”, but Tumbleweed has to be updated with “zypper dup”.

Hi, thanks for the heads up. just wondering if the applet will be updated to refresh itself after updates have been installed.

Well, that’s 1009129 – plasma update notifier does not update after updates have been applied manually
