It’s (openSUSE Build Service) been getting DOS attacks, perhaps it’s hitting the regex implemented…

One possible workaround is to use the search box on https://build.opensuse.org. It’s not quite as effective, but it does give results.

software.o.o is not recommended for a number of reasons. Using build.o.o is what has been recommended, and for quite some time now.

In other words, openSUSE/SUSE is better than what the Polls on “The Net” are leading “the World at large” to believe … 
- There’s always a reason for Denial-Of-Service attacks …
Quite all linux infrastructures are under permanent attack by AI crawlers. They hammer down nearly all servers. It’s quite impossible to protect against these crawlers without also annoying normal users with machine checks if you are a normal visitor.
AI companies have recently started buying real books from used bookstores to digitize them, because the digital world has been virtually exhausted. They use the data to train their AI models and then destroy the physical books.
Time to regulate that AI crap…

@hui and @malcolmlewis Dear Sirs, out of further interest I would like to know where one get such info that openSUSE servers are heavily accessed by crawlers? Where can I find that by myself? TIA!
Anonymous access, talk is that it may be disabled…

But I am not quite sure: is it about “spider”, “anonymous”, “interconnect”, “authenticated” what I have to look for (which one)?
The anonymous ones… If you look at the 2 day period, you can see spike up. To me they should disable that access…
AFAIK,
spider - is allowed crawlers(?)
interconnect - is external connections from private build service instances, eg packman
authenticated, logged in users web ui or using the likes of osc
I wonder if osc is an interconnect since it is using the API…
