I’m very new to Suse… Opensuse 11.2 (gnome) is the first version of this distro I have ever ran. For the past few years I have been running Ubuntu. I have not had time to master the command lines for suse yet… So please bear with me if I ask stupid questions…
My software manager has been working fine for the last week, but today it just stopped loading. It gives this as the reason why:
System management is locked by the application with pid 6652 (zypper).
Close this application before trying again.
I have tried rebooting, and it still doesn’t work… Any ideas?
There is an updater applet that runs in the system tray. That is causing this. I always quit this application and choose not to have it start at boot. I then manually check for updates with the software manager.
You can always choose to start the updater applet again if you find you want it.
alright I did this, and the error message went away but it still stalls and won’t load. It stalls on “Load configured repositories: downloading: http://opensuse.org/.../repodata/repomd.xml:”
