Software Management Error

i just installed openSUSE 12.3 and i’m having an issue with the software management. upon loading, it gives me the error “Failed to mount cd:///?=devices…” looking for my cd-rom. why does it do this? can i suppress this error? clicking skip autorefresh or skip brings me to the software management app, but i’m not sure if skipping it is causing other issues.

thanks in advance.

If you select repositories in YAST you will see that the cd is mentioned. High light it and uncheck refresh. And the other box too if you like.

The DVD where you installed openSUSE from is added to your system’s software repositories list. Normally it’s refresh should be disabled, but in your case it seems to be enabled and so “Software Management” wants to read the list of packages from it.
If you don’t want to insert the DVD every time, just enter YaST->Software Repositories and disable “Auto-Refresh” for the DVD there, or disable/remove it completely. All the software from the DVD (and a lot more more) is available in the online repos anyway.

Thats got it. Awesome. Thank you both.
