I have a fresh install of leap 42.1, after adding a few programs and restarting, I click yast2, software management, the window opens and the progress bar fills and the window just closes.
If I open Terminal super user mode and type yast2, then click software management it opens fine.
Hi,
That happened to me with KDE. Are you using it? Now that I switched to XFCE, it no longer happens. Maybe you can try a
different WM via the Display Manager. Usually, there is at least another one installed.
Good luck!

Hi, yes i am using KDE. I will try a differant wm. Thanks.
The window manager should not matter.
But there is a known problem that YaST can crash when run on a secondary display and using the breeze widget style.
See https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=955381, which also mentions a workaround.
That might be the bug I encountered. The thing is, no matter what I did, KDE always opened the window across screens.
Even if I moved it before it crashed when left alone, it would still crash. Didn’t try with just one screen though.
OK, I tried icewm and xfce, all no problem.
I went back to KDE and it is on my second screen that is the problem.
Thanks.
