I have installed Snort-2.8.2 on my SUSE-10.0. I put the source folder into root’s home directory and installed from there. Now I want to edit snort.conf file. But I cannot locate this file. Where is it installed.
Any help Please !
If you installed it from source - most likely nowhere ( or perhaps /etc/snort/snort.conf ? ).
Most of the from-source compiled programs expect that you create the configuration files on your own - they often include example files in the form of program.conf.example or similar in the installation / source directories.
