Snapshot 12/17/2025: libtorrent-rasterbar v2.0.11-2.2 crashes qbittorrent

Hello,

libtorrent-rasterbar v2.0.11-2.2 crashes qbittorrent. Transmission et al. are working as expected. Downgrading to v2_0-2.0.11-2.1 from slowroll temporarily solves the issue.

Download from here.

sudo zypper install --oldpackage libtorrent-rasterbar2_0-2.0.11-2.1.x86_64.rpm

Hope this helps. All the best.

Good you created a Bug 1255443 but a good bug report contains also:

  • The way to reproduce the problem. Yes, I understand I have to install I would have to install libtorrent but what command did you run.
  • When something crashes there is a crash log, post that.

Confirmed this workaround still is the way to go. Thanks for the download link, was looking for it for a while this morning.

From the last update on my system I had:
libtorrent-rasterbar-devel-2.0.11-2.2.x86_64
libtorrent-rasterbar2_0-2.0.11-2.2.x86_64
qbittorrent-5.1.4-1.1.x86_64

…which immediately crashed.

You’re welcome. This is a common problem with libtorrent-rasterbar. qbittorrent needs to be rebuilt in openSUSE (usually takes only a few days).

Because it happens so often, it might be prudent to only release the upgrade to libtorrent-rasterbar2_0 after qbittorrent has been rebuilt - at the same time essentially.

At least there’s a workaround until the already known problem is solved.

I would lock libtorrent-rasterbar2_0 until qbittorrent is upgraded:

sudo zypper al -m 'New version crashing qbittorrent immediately upon launch.' libtorrent-rasterbar2_0

Thanks, it works also for me, and I put the package in lock status
