SMP in SLES10 and SLES11 and NETFILTER module

Hi:

I wrote a simple Netfilter module in SLES10 and I notice that the system does balancing between CPUs. Use the SMP kernel and BIGSMP. I used the SAR command to check. I even put counters in my module. The system do balancing at application level but not in my module.

SLES11 paradoxically makes balancing between CPUs but the network transfers are slower.

Someone knows what’s the problem here?

Thanks,

Rigoberto

you are welcome to seek advice here, but BE ADVISED that these are the
openSUSE forums and many of the answers might be from folks who have
never run SLES (or maybe never even heard of it before) and
you are likely much better off if you seek assistance from the
Attachmate/SUSE forums (where the SUSE Linux Enterprise gurus hang out),
at: http://tinyurl.com/422mrnu

you are welcome to hang out here and see if anyone has the info you
need, but you should for sure check in with the SUSE/Attachmate
folks–your ID/Pass here works there also…

thanks, german. I’ll post my question in SUSE Linux Enterprise too.
