Smoothness of compiz (OS 11.1)

Good morning,

i have just installed openSUSE 11.1 and almost everything is working perfectly. I only can not understand why animations are not smooth (my HW is good enough - 2,4 GHZ, 2 GB RAM, nVidia Quadro NVS 160M,…)… e.g. when i minimize some window - when minimizing it has a lot of lags.

Next thing is, why I can not use middle button for scrolling (trackpoint) - in openSUSE it was fully working on liveCD - and scroll zones of ALPS touchpad are not working too…

This should be everything, thank you for your answers, i will try to fix these problems with your help!

I have the same exact problem with an e5200 core duo and ati radeon 3650, but only if compiz enabled. Can’t understand

Well that is strange - i 've got opposite situation - kwin effects are lagging and compiz is (almost) superfast with my old hw. :slight_smile:
