smb nautilus browsing problem in openSUSE 11.0

After upgrade from 10.3 to 11.0 I got empty list of win2003 shares in nautilus.

In 10.3 nautilus show (smb://gc) list of shares

In 11.0 nautilus (smb://gc) show nothing, but smb://gc/install show files list.

den@OpenSuse11.0 > gvfs-ls smb://gc

den@OpenSuse11.0 > gvfs-mount smb://gc/install
den@OpenSuse11.0 > gvfs-ls smb://gc/install

den@OpenSuse11.0 > gvfs-ls smb://gc

That’s result of a bug in the Nautilus release that was coincident with openSUSE 11.0. I see it also in Ubuntu forums for that year as well. The servers show but the shares don’t show when you try to drill down to see them. And at the next level if you know and use the address of the shares (like smb://server/sharename) then the files show. This was (and is) a Nautilus bug.

Here’s the Gnome bugzilla report: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=524485
