I have done zypper dup , rebooted and still the same.
I had to rollback again
digikam update is now also out, that was missing for one other user.
Maybe you have installed some other qt-related software that holds back part of the update? Other users reported success now.
Working now for me ![]()
Thanks for the fast reaction
It works for me too. Thanks for your support.
works for me as well now. Thanks for your effort and support
Still no luck here after rollback and dup in the last half-hour - my 3rd attempt in the last couple of days using latest updates each time.
RG on Slowroll
Hi, same problem for me, three times snapper rollback done but the problem still persists.
zypper refresh… done
zypper clean -a … done
zypper dup … nothing to be updated
all zypper locks removed
I unfortunate can confirm the behavior is still there and I am not able to update my system to a working plasma6 environment. IceWM is working and would allow me to update the system. So far I am working on a rolled-back system
Update 30.11.2025 12:15pm: can not login. Same Error as before. Have to rollback.
I wonder when they’ll fix this issue. I’ve also tried updating three times, and each time it failed, and I had to roll back. I hope this issue will be gone when the full snapshot is released next month.
I forced a reinstall of all the kde6 stuff zypper in -f kf6-*
reinstall solved for me, thanks
zypper in -f kf6-* resulted in a long list of packages that could not be installed due to unavailable libraries. Eventually traced to:
- qt6-declarative-imports and
- libQt6Gui.so.6(Qt_6.10.0_PRIVATE_API)(64bit)
These may have originated from Digikam which I reinstalled in case.
After full set of updates the packages updated and the above cleared.
One new library that can't update appeared, but it didn't affect others:
- qtdeclarative-imports-provides-qt6 (upgrade to 1.0-1.47 on hold)
Other than that, system now running and booting ok :-)
Thanks for the help
When you use a sledgehammer to fix something, not everything works out as desired.
I used the same method and got back to a working system after accepting some packages e.g. digikam to be removed. Definitely the “sledgehammer” but after 4 or 5 times rolling back the system I gave it a try. Thanks for the idea Ljosalfr
Having same problem after a slowroll ‘zypper dup’ today. Cannot log into KDE. Still able to log into XFCE. Not sure what to do to fix this. Please advise.
Just for the fun of it: I recently used the opensuse migration tool to migrate from tumbleweed to slowroll because I thought I want to fiddle less and have it a bit more stable. Tumbleweed was almost hiccup free for me for the past 5 years. One update later I had to face the issue described here. I migrated back to tumbleweed and everything worked fine. Slowroll is supposed to be a less updated tumbleweed. Tumbleweed works but slowroll doesn’t. Maybe time to take a new tumbleweed snapshot?
We’re waiting for a new snapshot, it should be out in a few days, I hope the problem gets fixed.
I really like OpenSuse Slowroll and its approach to updates; it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I hope the next update and future updates will resolve these issues.
