Slow wireless connection on one device

My wireless download speed on my desktop computer is about a third of what I can achieve on my phone and MacBook (positioned in the same place). It’s a pretty old card but supposedly can handle up to 300Mbps.

Desktop gets around 25Mbps download speed. Other devices get around 70Mbps (which is correct). All devices are in the same room as the the router. I thought a good start would be to update the drivers.

1 ) EW-7728In - http://us.edimax.com/edimax/merchandise/merchandise_detail/data/edimax/us/home_legacy_wireless_adapters/ew-7728in/
2 ) Ralink RT2800 (trying to upgrade to RT2860)
3 ) When I try and “make” following the instructions in the README file, it errors. driver_make_log.txt attached
4 ) RT2860 is available on the website as a driver download so I’ve tried to update the driver to this.
5 ) README file attached for the driver installation.
6 ) Leap 42.2
7 ) lspci -v returns:

Any help would be appreciated!
