Slow window moving and artefacts

Hello!

I can’t explain my problem well enough so please watch this video: http://ompldr.org/vZDRmMg/24032012023.mp4

As you see, there are some artefacts while I’m moving the window. Also, the moving is not smooth, that’s really unpleasant.

OpenSUSE 11.4 64 bit
KDE 4.6.0
AMD/ATI proprietary driver, fglrx
XRender with smoothing
Sony VAIO fw-series laptop

I also have a problem like that in Win7, but it’s much less noticeable.

Any help?

Can it be a problem of my display?

If the problem also exists in Win7, I’d say it’s a hardware issue, most likely the graphics chip/card. What you also could do, is boot from an openSUSE 12.1 LiveCD and see if the issue exists.

I can not see it. FF displays black window while it continues downloading.
Xine says there is no plugin to display it. Mplayer doesn’t even open the
display

Opens OK here in smplayer (which is just a front end to mplayer). File info from smplayer:

Vídeo
Resolução 640 x 352
Tamanho do Vídeo 1.8182
Formato MP4V
Taxa de bits 1013 kbps
Frames por segundo 100.000
Codificador selecionado ffodivx

Transmissão Inicial de Áudio

Perhaps it’s the 100 fps causing trouble (video sync?)

To the OP:

You are running xrender compositing. Try changing it to openGL on system-settings>workspace effects>Advanced>type of composition (translated from pt_BR, so not accurate).
