good night! has been a very slow rate of transfer from the computer to the USB on openSUSE, and the pendrive to the computer is much faster, I’ve tested other distros and the performance was very good. this is from the version now in openSUSE 11.2 and 11.3. If anyone has any idea how to fix I thank

Hi, it’s completely normal that writing to the pen drive is slower then
reading from it. For instance, on my Kingston 16G pen, the writing seems
limited to about 3 MB/s, the reading is over 20 MB/S. This is coherently so
on several realeases of openSUSE, other Linux’es and even Windows.
What kind of speeds are you getting ?
Beware of the cache when testing. Use the sync command after your copy, to
make sure all the writing is done. And use a large file.
Time this, with a file at least a few 100’s of MB’s:
cp /test/source/file /pen/drive/
sync

This is normal, write to a thumb disk is slow. Some units are faster.
Some mount options make operations slower, like “flush”.
