Just been testing SUSE 12.2 (KDE) on a live boot and really like it, BUT I can’t seem to adjust the trackpoint speed - it’s realllly slow - I can find the trackpoint by looking it up in the hardware list, but on the interface which I think is the starting point to adjust the mouse settings - it lists loads of “mice” but no trackpoint. Grateful for any help on how to fix this. Do I need to install something that can configure the trackpoint? This is currently stopping me moving to SUSE. Many thanks!
maybe worth adding that under YaST - Hardware, the only mouse option I’m getting is: Mouse on Text Console (GPM), then a list of available mice! I’d like to find a GUI that allows me to adjust the trackpoint please. I’ve read posts about editing files using the Terminal but I’m not up to that level of ability yet (sadly)!

I can’t offer direct help, since my laptop has the more usual touchpad. However, for mouse and touchpad configuration, KDE has this graphical utility
Menu>>System Settings>>Input Devices
Are you able to adjust the speed/sensitivity here?

I sympathise with your situation, but sometimes it is necessary to tweak via the CLI, so don’t let any guides scare you off. It’s worth the effort to learn…bit by bit as you need to.
An Xorg method that may work (for installed dsitro):

Via xinput commands (can be executed via a startup script):

How to configure the TrackPoint - ThinkWiki
Hi, many thanks for the reply. I’ve only got a trackpoint too (running a lenovo X60s). I’m on SUSE 12.2 (live CD at present), and on Menu - … I can’t find any path that is similar to: System Settings - Input Devices. I’ve trawled all the menus for input devices but nothing shows up. The closest I can get is launching YaST and then looking under ‘hardware’ - but still no GUI for controlling the trackpoint there either. Grateful if anyone could point me in the right place for finding a mouse/trackpoint GUI controller on SUSE 12.2 KDE. Thanks again!
If using KDE, it should be available from the main menu. Open a terminal window, and type
systemsettings
*It can also be got by ALT-F2, which brings up KRunner. You can type ‘sys’ which should then show ‘System Settings’.
