Slow login to gnome

Hy!

I have suse 11.0 on a new pc, and with my user it cost a long time to login to gnome (about 40 secs with autologin) i was uninstalled beagle, ad turn off ipv6. I have compiz running. With another user the login is about 3 secods…

So it’s user-specific… look under the Control Center for that user and
then in ‘Sessions’ to see if anything is loading in there that takes a
lot of time. Also wha tif you login to the console/command-line via a
regular TTY? Ctrl+Alt+F2 to get to one of them and do the login there.
Still slow? If so check /home/<username>/.bashrc and
/home/username/.profile specifically.

Good luck.

There was about 10 aplications in control center/sessions, what dont really nedded. (gnome-volume-manager, gnome-docker, pulse audio daemon, bluetooth etc.) i was switched off almost everything, and the login time was reduced. It’s acceptable now.

Thanks for the advice!
