Slow login (org.freedesktop.login1) time out

Hi all

I’m receiving this message when I try to login in openSuSE 12.1:

ldap dbus[356]: [system] Failed to activate service 'org.freedesktop.login1': timed out
ldap dbus-daemon[356]: dbus[356]: [system] Failed to activate service 'org.freedesktop.login1': timed out
ldap sshd[5462]: pam_systemd(sshd:session): Failed to create session: Activation of org.freedesktop.login1 timed out

The configuration is a server, with minimal packages installed and only text interface.

It takes around 15 seconds to complete the login, even by console or by ssh.

Any ideas?

Hi shayani,

i have the same problem here.
Do you found a solution for this problem?

greetings
Stefan

No. I did not find a solution. I noticed that this error occurs when the system tried to find the tty0 console in /dev, but it can’t because it doesn’t exist.

To solve this I reinstalled the openSuSE with XFCE and then no more errors…
