Ok so i have two MS hyper-v hosts. I have moved my SLES 11 SP1 vm that was completely working to the other host. My problem is that even though the NIC says ti is active it doesn’t access anything. None of the other servers in the LAN or the Internet. Beign a noive linux guy what is the best way to troubleshoot why? Thanks.
So we don’t support SLED here and we don’t know much about Hyper-V either, perhaps a question to Microsoft about the networks they support. For SLED support, look to here: SUSE Forums
Thank You,
James,
Thanks for the comments but just two points. One is the fact i am talking about SLES and not SLED. Second is why does the link to this forum say, “Questions about virtual machines as hosts and clients and in all operating systems” if you only support linux? SLES is certified in hyper-v which means someone at Novell and MS must know about it. Oh and i have posted the question to MS support but as good engineer i thought it best to go to both places to get both viewpoints. Plus my question dealt mainly with the best practice to troubelshoot NIC issues in a SLES VM.
Hi
SLED or SLES, these are the community based openSUSE forums, not SUSE, you need to post your question here SLES Virtualization

Sorry, these forums are for openSUSE, not SLES nor SLED. You have to ask
questions re virtualization with an openSUSE machine.

We are not Novell. This is an openSUSE forum, not Novell nor SUSE.
