Why too bad? - You don’t believe I have the right to be upset when someone accuses me publicly of not contributing to FOSS and being a freeloader?
So djh-novell - I’m glad you DID bother. But what makes you believe I leaped to negative conclusions about people and software?
DenverD respondet with an apology (albeit with a little cynical undertone - which I understand) … of course I can’t stop you from adding me to your killfile (don’t know what that is).
What’s wrong with my critique on the SLES kernel? I’ve looked at both kernels - one seems to work flawlessly, the other doesn’t. One can only draw two conclusions from it:
- The current SLES kernel deliberately doesn’t include the support for certain hardware (for whatever reason - maybe commercial)
- The build of the current SLES kernel is not as well done as the current openSUSE kernel (a pat on the back for the openSUSE community)
Of course I am not a guru like you but as a potential user of SUSE I think I’m quite in my rights to raise this question and critique this software.
In any case - thanks for the hint of google-ing the pci information. If I would have known that PCI could be the problem, I would have already searched for that - now that you mention it.
As for the new kernel … I guess I now have to look up and learn how to do that.
Thanks for your suggestions.

DD you’ve been bad again. Read your first post, then your second post.
And wailadd, sadly, sadly you were briefly sucked in as robin_listas noted…
Anyway, this is going nowhere so let’s just lock it up.
What can I say kdz except, sigh.

Too bad because you were too quick in interpreting the comments that way.
